Into the Weeds is a Canadian documentary film, directed by Jennifer Baichwal and released in 2022.The film centres on Dewayne "Lee" Johnson, the California man whose health problems after longterm exposure to glyphosate in the herbicide product Roundup led to the landmark Johnson v. Monsanto Co. court case. Will Monsanto (Bayer) be forced to change Roundup’s label? To compensate the myriad victims? To address the wide-ranging ecological effects? We consider the limitations of mass torts and using the courts as a tool for social good, and the likelihood of money damages affecting the practice of a company worth billions. By telling Johnson’s story, INTO THE WEEDS ultimately considers whether this kind of David vs. Goliath fight is capable of instigating lasting and substantial change.

The film premiered as the opening film of the 2022 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival,[3] in advance of a planned television broadcast by CBC Television in late 2022.
