Transition Towns are growing! These are towns who are actively planning and striving to become sustainable and resilient, to be better prepared for the challenges ahead. This can include growing local plants and seeds, keeping traditional crafts alive, building sustainable buildings, sometimes with older building techniques and new technologies, and using clean energy sources.  Some towns set up trade and swap initiatives on a regular basis.  Our guest speaker is Lance Lieber who is President of Transition Towns Sydney and Transition Town Bondi. He is a permaculture landscaper and teacher and has been involved in setting up Responsible Runners and Bondi Bike Club

Crop Swap Sydney is a grass roots initiative based on simple bartering principles. It connects local growers, provides free workshops, tastings or talks, and allows the sharing of excess produce, plants or seeds anytime, and often instantly. Join Laurie Green, founder of Crop Swap Sydney, as she discusses Crop Swapping and some of the weird and wonderful items that have been exchanged and its involvement with permaculture.

For the meeting's Crop Swap bring along your excess produce, eggs, honey, baked goods, preserves seeds or seedlings to swap.  In need of some inspiration? Visit www.CropSwap.Sydney/Gallery to see what others have brought along to past Crop Swaps. Hear from the Crop Swap team on how this initiative is growing all over Sydney.

All welcome, entry by donation. doors open 7:15pm for a 7:30 start.
