Well here we are.
Hardware stores and nurseries have run out of seeds and potting mix. Every local online forum page is chock full of questions about where to buy chickens, which weeds are edible and how to start a compost from scratch.
Doesn't it seem like permaculture is a concept and movement whose time has come???
The Problem is the Solution.
We are all getting used to what this new world looks like. How will we work? What does community mean? How can those of us already embedded in the home economy help others who are only just now starting their journeys?
While harvesting corn and planting broad beans in his home garden, David Holmgren was wondering what kind of contribution he and partner Su might make. And it came to him...David is releasing his best-selling book, RetroSuburbia, as a pay-what-you-feel online book. “We are taking a leap and releasing a digital version of RetroSuburbia available for whatever people can afford.” Hopefully, most will pay something reasonable in return and keep supporting our RetroSuburbia Rollout. You can read the rest of David's explanation here.
At 7pm TONIGHT into David launching the digital ‘pay what you feel’ version of RetroSuburbia with Gardening Australia's Costa Georgiadis and world-renowned permaculture electro-funk-swing band Formidable Vegetable Sound System.
