International Permaculture Day is held annually on the first Sunday of May when permaculture gardens and education centers worldwide open their doors to showcase their own permaculture practices.
This year we will have workshops and garden tours on the northern beaches of Sydney at Elanora Heights at a property that is home to the wonderful honey and beeswax products called "Honey I am Home".
Guided garden tours including beehives are at 10 am and then at 1 pm in a bushland setting with numerous honey bee hives at 12 Dendrobium Crescent Elanora Heights.
Beeswax product-making workshops including Beeswax wraps ($2 to make your own wrap) and candles ($4 to make your own candles) will be at 11 am and 2 pm in the barn. If the weather is wet we will still hold workshops in the barn and do tours so bring appropriate clothing, water, and food. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy the property with a like-minded community.
Honey and homemade jams and marmalades are available for purchase.
