This 5 hour workshop is designed to give a basic first hand introduction to carpentry and woodworking skills. During the workshop, each participant will build a small crate from reclaimed timber that they can take home with them at the end of the day. Teaching and materials are provided by the Bower Reuse and Repair Centre.

Throughout the course we cover the following knowledge and skills:

• Understanding timber and construction materials

• Marking and measuring

• Using a hand saw

• Using hammers, drills, and drivers

• General safety in the workshop

• Safely using power saws

At the end of the workshop, participants will have skills to construct basic items around the home using the skills learnt in class.

The cost is a bargain at $50 per person for the 5-hour instructor-led workshop, with all tools and equipment will be provided,  Afternoon tea will be available.  Please bring a plate of food to share and learn new skills!
