In this workshop, you will learn how to set out and dig suburban-size contour swales in preparation for a food forest. Swales are an amazing way of slowing and catching water in the landscape so that it can slowly soak into the soil instead of running off into gullies and drains.
They are very effective tree-growing systems that will need little maintenance once established. Food forests are human-engineered ecosystems that contain many species of edible perennial plants.
Workshop cost is $40 for PNB members and $50 for non-members
