Bungan Edible Sanctuary is a self-sustaining permaculture experiment located along the sandy coast of the Northern Beaches of Sydney. If ever there was a garden more prepared for a pandemic, it is this place. Set over 5 suburban blocks, Bungan Edible Sanctuary has large scale vegetable gardens, edible food forests, a seed raising greenhouse, chooks, honey bees and an aquaponic system supplying edible fish from a converted swimming pool.

They have also set up a fair share food wall for their neighbours to pick food from. Food waste is recycled through worm farms and hot composting. The family is close to being self-sufficient in vegetables as well as having some to share with their community.
